My K10 Build

(1/12) > >>

Here is a pic of when I went down to KC, MO and picked up my 1978 Chevrolet SWB K10.

Here are some pics of the ol' pos when I got it home.

Then I found some factory rally wheels, painted them, and put the 32" BFG ATs on them.

Took some crap out and got a new steering wheel!!!

After: Notice the body line where the cab and box meet.

New battery tray

As you could see in the other pics, the body mount bushings were shot. So I replaced them with some Poly bushings.

Starting to gather parts for lift and axle swap.

The front spring hangers were completely rusted out

So I bought these

Front lift

Still waiting on axles here, but I wanted to get started.

Shackle flip on

Got the 12bolt out

Picked up the 4.56 geared D44 and 14bolt FF

Ran a buddys 36's for a few weeks

Rusty hanger

Both front hangers are off

The 14bolt is ready to bolt up.

Got the rear on the ground

Front axle out.

Zero rate install. Front axle moved 1" forward, Rear 1" backward.

It has 2' ground clearance to the rockers. 10" of front tire to fender gap and 11" in the back.

Maiden Voyage

I don't know why, but I like this pic. Looks like a tow truck haha.

Trying to flex it out.

Getting close
